Willie Joe Kilgore, age 79 of Cohutta, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013 at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claudia and William Kilgore; brother, James Kilgore; sisters, Bessie Wallace and Lois Isbell. He is a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Rome, Ga.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Kilgore of the residence; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Tommy Helms of Rome and Karen and Richey Croy of Woodstock; 2 sons and daughter-in-law, Danny Kilgore, and Scottie and Sonya Kilgore, all of Cohutta; sisters, Ruth Smith of Ringgold, Marie Williams of Knoxville, Sue Harvey of South Pittsburg, TN and Ruby Pursley and Nannie Grant, both of Dunlap, TN; grandchildren, Jason Croy, Misty Bible, Donnie and Kaylah Helms, Amanda and Christopher Evans, Breanna, Trevor, and Marley Kilgore; great grandchildren, Autumn, Aslyn, Aiden, and Abrynn Bible, Tristan and Garrett and Miranda Croy; nieces and nephews.
The service will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends at the Pleasant Grove Chapel on Monday, October 21, 2013 from 5:00 until 9:00 pm. Burial will be at the United Memorial Gardens.
