Albert, with his twin brother, Alfred, 14 year of age, and another brother, Ira, walked from Amity, Missouri to Kansas crossing the Missouri River in 1887, herding the family cattle behind their covered wagons. The trip of 265 miles took thirty days bringing his parents, grandfather Russell and 8 children to Kansas. Their 10 brothers and sisters, included another pair of twins, Ira and Ida.

Albert married Eudorah Hester at Columbus on November 4, 1887. She preceded him in death as did a daughter. Immediate survivors were two sons: Ray and Way.
