Jean Marie (Bauer) Stark------72, Spearfish, SD, formerly of Kenmare, ND, died Monday, October 14, 2013 in a Rapid City, SD hospital.
Jean Marie Bauer was born on April 29, 1941, a daughter of Leonard and Ethel (Hanson) Bauer in Kenmare, ND. She was raised on the family farm and attended grade school and most of high school at St. Agnes Catholic School in Kenmare. As a result of the closure of St. Agnes School in 1957, Jean graduated from Kenmare High School. Following her graduation, Jean worked for banks in both Kenmare and Minot.
On April 18, 1964, Jean was united in marriage to Gerald C. Stark at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kenmare. She moved with her husband to areas of Minneapolis, Denver and Louisville KY, as he worked for UPS. Jean worked in assisted living facilities while living in Colorado and Kentucky. In 1995, the couple retired to the Black Hills area in South Dakota.
Jean was an adventurous traveler, was always willing to try new things and was immediately liked by all those she met.

Husband of 50 years, Gerald, Spearfish, SD; daughter Tracey Lynn Stark, Cambridge, MA; son and daughter-in-law: John C. Stark, and Britney L. Stark Minneapolis, MN; two grandsons Gabriel C. Stark and Andrew T. Stark; brothers: Roger (Kate) Bauer, Benson, MN, Paul (Beverly) Bauer, Minot, ND, John Bauer, St. Louis, MO, Steven (Elaine) Bauer, Kenmare, ND; sister: Kathy Bauer, Kenmare, ND; brother-in-law Duane (Louise) Stark, Donnybrook, ND; sister-in-law Janet (John) Bertsch, Minot,ND.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Ethel Bauer, and a beloved daughter Heidi Marie Stark in 1991.
