Erik died at age 86 in his home. He came to America in January 1955, first to Montpeiler, ID., then to Eureka, CA., & finally setteled in Sacramento. He built a home in Orangevale & in January 1956, brought his family from Finland. He worked as a carpenter & general building contractor. He was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and was a member of Finlandia Club of Sacramento. Survived by his wife of 61 years, Sirkka Helena, son Esa(Valorie)Kirjola; daughters: Leila(Fritz)Wilke, Maija(Douglas)Jackson, Paula(Eric)Driever; 9 grandchildren, 3 gr-grandchildren; sister: Kris(Paul)VonBeck; brother, Lauri(Eria)Kirjola of Finland.
