OBITUARY :
MRS. E. LORRAINE (BONNER) SNOWBERGER, 84, of 102 S. Potomac St., Waynesboro, and formerly of 133 N. Church St., Waynesboro died at 7 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 1995, in Washington County Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past two months and critically ill for the past week.
Born July 12,1911, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Chales W. and Mary E. (Cole) Bonner. She had lived most of her life in the Waynesboro area.
Mrs. Snowberger and her husband, Eugene D. Snowberger, Sr, were married Oct. 24. 1944, in Hagertown. They moved to the Church Street address in 1957. Mrs. Snowberger became a resident of Hearthstone Retirement Home, Waynesboro, in April 1995. Mr. Snowberger died Aug. 4,1983.
In her early life, Mrs. Snowberger was employed at Waynesboro Knitting Mill. After they moved to Washington, D.C., she was a clerk for Hecht's Department Store. She returned to Waynesboro Knitting Mill for a short time after she raised her children.
She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro, and Lutheran Church Home Auxiliary.
She also was a member of Franklin County Nursing Home Auxiliary, YMCA Auxiliary, South Chapter 2977 AARP and the national AARP.
She is survived by one daughter, Bonita J. Teets of Springfield, Va.; one son, Eugene D. Snowberger, Jr. of Leitersburg; five grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters and seven brothers.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard A. Seaks officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemtery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services Sunday in the church parlor.
Memorial contributions may be made to Franklin County Nursing Home, 210 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.
Arrangements are in charge of Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
