Maria 'Mariah' (Lawlor) Gallagher was born on, 26 March 1871, in Dereens, Ballysakeery/Clooneal, Ballina, Killala, Mayo. She was one of twelve children born to Henry and Bridget (McHale) Lawlor: James Patrick Lawlor, Michael Lawlor, Ellen (Lawlor) Brennan, Catherine (Lawlor) McHale, Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Lawlor, Patrick Lawlor, Sarah 'Sadie' (Lawlor) Lavelle, John Lawlor, Agnes (Lawlor) Mangan, Anne (Lawlor) Mangan & Bridget 'Bea' (Lawlor) Murphy. On, 4 July 1890, she married Peter Gallagher, a wealthy farmer who owned three farms and moved to his farm at Lakefield, Ballyhiernaun, Carrowmoore, Mayo. They had twelve children: John Gallagher, Bridget Mary (Gallagher) Burke, Peter Joseph Gallagher, Sarah 'Sadie' Anne (Gallagher) McNulty, Catherine 'Kay/Katie' Ellen (Gallagher) White, Elizabeth 'Lizzie' (Gallagher) Rutledge, Emily Mary Gallagher, Patrick Joseph 'Josie' Gallagher, Agnes Mary (Gallagher) Comer, Dorothy 'Dora' (Gallagher) Naughton, Michael J.
