Gary Lynn Southerland, age 56, of Wilburn, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. Born in Wichita, Kansas, on July 13, 1957, he was the son of Lindell and Claudia Smith Southerland.

Gary was a member of the Wilburn General Baptist Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Mary Southerland and Marie Austin and her husband, Justin, all of Heber Springs; his parents, Lindell and Claudia Southerland of Wilburn; two sisters, Susan Lacy and her husband, Gary, of Tumbling Shoals and Nancy Springer and her husband, Jeff, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; his grandmother, Ruth Southerland of Heber Springs; and one grandson, Kyle Doxey. Gary is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 20, beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the Wilburn General Baptist Church with funeral services at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Jeremy Decker. Interment will follow in the Miller Cemetery. Matthew Lacy, Eric Smith, Ryan Springer, Allen Ball, Marty Martin, and Gary Lacy will serve as pallbearers.
