Nancy Lou French Keeton - 1943-2013

WURTLAND — Nancy Lou French Keeton, 70, of Wurtland, died Oct. 18, 2013, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
She was born May 27, 1943, to the late Earl French and the late Betty Boggs Sawyer.
She was also preceded in death by her adoptive parents/paternal grandparents, Orville and Stella French; brothers David French and Michael French.
She recently celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary with her husband, Larry W. Keeton of Wurtland.
She retired from the Wurtland Church of God with 30 years of service as a secretary and bookkeeper. She attended St. Mary's Nursing School, and worked for Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital for five years. She was a member of the Wurtland Church of God (one of the first charter members of the church). She enjoyed studying the word of God and was a Sunday school teacher for many different classes in the church. She computerized the bookkeeping and finances of the church, was very adamant about giving bibles to new converts and enjoyed working with the computer and learning different programs. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Nancy prayed for God to bring her a son. Well, God answered her prayers and gave her many spiritual sons in the church.
She is survived by daughters, Marcella Keeton (Anthony) Lyon of Wurtland and Vanessa Keeton (Brent) Gallaher of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers Robert "Bob" Sawyer (Cynthia) of Riley, N.C., Walter "Walt" Sawyer (Jodi) of Annapolis, Md.; Lyle Kenny Sawyer (Linda) of Glen Burnie, Md., Thomas Nelson Sawyer (Michele) of Glen Burnie, Timothy French (Vivian) of Wurtland and Mark French (Mary) of Wurtland; sisters Betty Ellen Upman (John) of Catonsville, Md., and Alethia Lee Sawyer of Baltimore, Md.; grandchildren Zachary (Ariel) Lyon of Wurtland and S. Trevor Lyon of Wurtland; a great-grandchild, Annie Lyon of Wurtland; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very dearly.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at the Wurtland Church of God, by Bishop Henry Montgomer, Pastor Shaun Howard and Pastor Bryan Montgomery. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup County.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Oct. 20, 2013, and from noon to service time Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wurtland Church of God Building Fund, 3361 Ky. 503, Wurtland, KY 41144.
