Age 71, passed away October 11, 2013, at her home in Hemet, Calif. Born August 28, 1942, in Warrick County, Indiana, she was one of four children of Helen and Edmond Parker. She married Ernest Powell in San Diego on August 27, 1989, and spent 24 happy years with him. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Beverly Clark of Monticello, Indiana; and Charles and Velma McAtee of Indiana, with whom she had a special, loving relationship while growing up. She is survived by her husband; one sister, Dixie Ward of Elgin, Texas; one brother, Don E. Parker of Princeton, Indiana; two sons: Lynn Humphries and Charles Dupree; two daughters from a previous marriage, Virginia Campbell and Sara Hulu; one adopted daughter, Malynda November; a step-daughter, Cheryl Taylor-Powell; seven grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was deeply loved by all and will be forever missed. A private service will be held at her interment in the Riverside National Cemetery. Published in Press-Enterprise on Oct. 18, 2013.
