Mrs. Henry Kersten, 79, of 1916 Hamilton St., Manitowoc, died Sunday evening at her home following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and 9 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. John Landowski officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was born Margaret Redig Nov. 2, 1884, at Brillion, daughter of the late George and Margaret Eigenberger Redig. She was married to Henry Kersten Nov. 8, 1904, at Brillion. The couple lived for a time at Eland Junction and then Brillion before moving to Manitowoc in 1952. Her husband died 11 years ago.
Among survivors are three sons, Lawrence of Dubuque, Iowa, Ray of Fort Atkinson and Joseph of Manitowoc; three daughters, Miss Elsie at home, Mrs. Alois Berg of Pewaukee and Mrs. Matt Schlehein of Milwaukee; a brother, George of Hilbert; a sister, Mrs. Henry Barth of Brillion and 10 grandchildren.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
