Emma Lou was born on March 29, 1935 in Saratoga Springs, NY to the late Charles J. and Louise (Rice) McGourty.
She was also predeceased by her son Terry James Blocksidge; her sister Ilene Martin and her brother Edward McGourty.
Emma Lou attended St. Peters Catholic School in her youth, graduated and moved on to bartend over the years at several establishments.
After retiring from the hospitality sector, she spent her retirement years working for Rickett's laundry in Ballston Spa, NY.
She remained with Rickett's for a number of years until finally retiring to Boynton Beach where she permanently resided until her passing.
Emma Lou was involved in many communal organizations including a charter member of the Ballston Spa Elks Ladies Auxiliary, as well as a longtime member of the Saratoga Eagles Club.
Emma Lou was a parishioner of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Saratoga Springs as well as St. Marks in Boynton Beach.
Hobbies included bowling, bingo, and friends would say she was arguably the biggest Mets fan around.
Burial will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
