Granddaughter of Joseph & Betsey Newman Storer, great granddaughter of the Revolutionary War Patriot Ebenezer Newman and his wife Sarah Dows. She was a great, great granddaughter of Benjamin & Hannah Frost Mears Dows (Dowse). Benjamin Dowse was also a Revolutionary War Patriot.

Hattie M Storer daughter of Andrew and Mary Storer was born 7 March 1861 near Minneapolis, Minnesota. She died at the home of her daughter where she had been an invalid for the past year, Aug. 28, 1944 age 83 years 5 month and 21 days.

When a child she moved with her parents to Rodney, Iowa. In 1871 she came to Kansas, settling with her parents on a farm near Bloomington, Kansas.

She was married to Frank C. Whitaker, Alton, on June 18, 1889, settling on a farm southwest of Bloomington. Mr Whitaker preceeded her in death in May 1915.

She leaves to mourn her departure three daughters, Mrs. Mina Valliant, Wewoka, Oklahoma, Mrs. Laura Anderson, Hutchinson and Mrs. Ethel Quenzer of Osborne. Also, two brothers W.I. Storer, Alton and Frank Storer of Studley, Kansas. She came from family of nine children, two sisters and six brothers. Six have preceeded her in death.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Methodist Church with Rev. Roy D. Plott in charge. Burial in the Osborne Cemetery.
