Leslie Joan Caldwell, 89, of Bay City entered the Heavenly Arms of Jesus on April 30, 2012. She was born December 28, 1922 in Azle, Texas to William Clearance Fowler and Annie Leslie Brice Fowler. She came to Bay City in 1953, and worked for several lawyers, Bossley Rice Dryers as a bookkeeper, County Clerk's Office, District Clerk's Office, County Treasure's Office, and the United Way. She was President of ARC of Matagorda County, Charter Member and held many offices with St. Paul's United Methodist Church, First Methodist Women of the Year, and was a member of The Vineyard Church. She had love for missionary work, playing the piano, and Leading the youth group.

She is survived by her son Jerry Monroe Caldwell of Bay City; 2 daughters: Lilla Pauline Caldwell Etgen of Bay City; Coraglyn Coco Caldwell of Victoria; 2 grandsons: David Michael Etgen and Marvin Paul Etgen both of Bay City; brother: Pat B. Fowler of Houston; brother-in-law: Jack Lee Forest of Lake Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Otha Monroe Caldwell; grandson: Jerry Wayne Etgen; brother: Franklin Brice Fowler; and 2 sisters: Mary Ruth Forest and Hattie Lou Roseler.

The family will receive visitors from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, May 4, 2012 at The Vineyard Church with Pastor Ed Webbon officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Pallbearers will be: Alan Caldwell, Steve Sieben, Scott Sieben, Bill Cross, and Bill Dunsworth.

Donations may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church Missions, ARC Developmental Disabilities, or the Vineyard Church.
