Margaret “Peggy” Fox Sherrill, 74, died at home Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005. She was the beloved wife of John D. Sherrill for 53 years and daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Fox. Peggy was born in Birmingham. She is survived by her children, Patty Sherrill Hall (Mrs. O.Z. Hall Jr.) of Birmingham, Kathy Sherrill Evans (Mrs. Stan) of Decatur, Mrs. Paige Sherrill Colantonio (Mrs. Donald) of Simsbury, Conn., John D. Sherrill Jr. of Birmingham and Hunter Sherrill of Decatur; nine grandchildren, O.Z. Hall III, John Bagby Hall, Sara-Margaret Hall, Stan Allan Evans, Katharine Sherrill Evans, Donald Francis Colantonio III, John Arthur Colantonio, Christian Ryan Colantonio and Christie Jean Sherrill; one beloved sibling, Arthur J. Fox Jr. and her sister-in-law, JoAnn Fox of Birmingham; and many beloved nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Sherrill’s six grandsons, Stan Allan Evans, O.Z. Hall III, John Bagby Hall, Donald Francis Colantonio III, John Arthur Colantonio and Christian Colantonio.
