Mary Dean (Arnold) Bailey, 88, passed away October 17th in Topeka, KS. She was born in LaMesa, TX on January 4, 1925 to James and Cordella Farmer, they precede her in death.

She married Ernest Arnold on January 23, 1939 in Aspermont, TX, he precedes her in death also preceded in death by her son, Jim Arnold; three brothers, Virgil, Jim, and Floyd; three sisters, Vivian, Marie, and Barbara Ann; one granddaughter, Tammy Baker; four grandsons, John Cole, Randy High, Dennis High, and Douglas High.

Mary is survived by four sons, Billy Arnold of Carbondale, KS, Richard Arnold of Sanford, AZ, Roy Arnold of Galveston, TX, and Mike Arnold of Carbondale, KS; six daughters, Rose Baker of Fort Sumner, NM, Myrle Rush of Clovis, NM, Arlene (Vernon) High of Scranton, KS, Joann Garrett of Carbondale, KS, Peggy (Ken) Cole of Roswell, NM, and Vicky (Joe) Rivas of Carbondale, KS; 25 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 31 great-great-grandchildren.

Nothing was more important or more apart of Mary's life than her children and their families. From the moment she gave birth to her first child her focus in life was caring for her children and caring about them as they matured. She learned to cook on a shoestring cooking from scratch as to what was available at the time and not dwelling on what she could have. Up until she could not speak the first thing she would tell strangers would be that fact that she had 12 children. Mary enjoyed playing bingo when she could, and playing her favorite and only card games Touring Cards.

Mary fought a long painful battle with the disease of Alzheimer that challenged her and her loved ones. In lewd of donations of any sort the family request that if you know someone with this disease love them a little kinder, gentle, and for as long as you are blessed to have them.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Muffley Funeral Home (575) 762-4435 www.muffleyfuneralhome.com.
