US Senator. A native of Hardwick, Massachusetts, he served as a United States Senator from Vermont, serving from 1807 to 1815. He also served as a Member of the Vermont State House of Representatives in 1789, State Court Judge in 1795, and Justice of the Vermont State Supreme Court in 1801.
