Larry Roscoe Ellison died Wednesday, October 16, in Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. Larry was a native of Swainsboro and grew up in Statesboro, graduating from Statesboro High School in 1968, and resided most of his adult life in Savannah. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed drag racing in his teenage years and loved horses and horseback riding. He retired as a well driller after 20 years of service, working for Layne-Atlantic Well Drilling and Rowe Well Drilling. Most recently, he was a truck driver with Floyd Concrete Co. of Savannah. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Statesboro and was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grover C. Brinson Sr. and Maude Bennett Brinson; parents, Roscoe and Winnie Brinson Ellison; and his uncle who raised him after his father's death, Thomas C. Brinson.
