Wesley Osborn, 65, of Portage, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999. He was a former Portage Fire Chief and a firman for the City of Portage, president of the Portage Exchange Club. a member of the Portage VFW Post 260, a member of the Portage Firefighters, a Portage Little League Coach, a former bus driver for the Portage schools, a former U.S. Steel Employee and a U.S. Marine serving in the Korean conflict.
Funeral services were Dec. 6 at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel. Graveside services at Calvary Cemetary. Memorials may be made to the Mary E. Bartz Hospice Center, Valparaiso.
Mr. Osborn is survived by his wife, Norma; father Thomas E. Osborn of New Carlisle; two sons, Mark Wilber of Portage and Michael Wilber ; two daughters, Benita Wilber of Anderson and Cassi (Jim) Ballard of Lawrenceville; six brothers, Wayne (Linda) Osborn of Granger, Walter Osborn of South Bend, Ward (Lee) Osborn of Castleberry, FL, Wayburn (Deanna) Osborn of Hallondale, FL, William (Pam) Osborn of Cocoa, FL, and Warren "Doc" (Marge) Osborn of South Bend; one sister, Linda (Richard) Garwick of New Carlisle; one granddaughter, Kit Boles and one grandson, Jordan Wilber. He was preceeded in death by his mother, Orabelle Osborn.
