Mrs. Florence Wood - Her friendly smile, her cheerfulness and the vivacious spirit of Florence (Toots) Wood will be sorely missed by her many friends in Wickenburg where she had lived the past 32 years. News of her untimely death was a shock to those friends. It occurred Saturday evening, December 4 in Good Samaritan Hospital, in Phoenix, where she had been taken after becoming ill earlier in the day while she and her husband Ted R. Wood, Sr., recently retired restaurant owner here, were visiting the capital city.
Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with burial following in the Wickenburg Cemetery.
Born in Provo, Utah, Mrs. Wood, following her arrival here, became active in the Order of Eastern Star and was a past Matron of that order.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, are a son Ted R. Wood, Jr., and daughter Mrs. Judy Barbee, both of Phoenix; a brother Harold Dillingham of Provo and sister Leslie Dillingham of Salt Lake City. Four grandchildren also survive.
