Billie M. McDonald, 86, of Sanderson, Texas, went to her heavenly home Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013. She was born Jan. 18, 1927, to Joe and Nina Wheat in Wingate, Texas. She faithfully served the Lord as a member of Sanderson Church of Christ for more than 40 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James T. McDonald; and her son, Thomas Ray McDonald.

She is survived by her son, Earl McDonald and wife Rose; son Gary McDonald and wife Denise; grandson Dillon McDonald and wife Melissa; grandson Matthew McDonald and wife Jill; grandson Pace Morgan; great-grandson Tyler Morgan; brother J.L. Wheat and wife Betty; sister Sue Williams and husband Perry; brother-in-law Clint Fannin; and many, many nephews, nieces and other relatives. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all of her family and friends.

After losing her husband of 31 years, Billie started her career at the age of 62 working for Sanderson I.S.D. She loved and cherished every day and it was a joy for her to work with the children at the elementary school. She loved the kids, the faculty and the whole school teaching experience. She retired after more than 20 wonderful years at the age of 82.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at Sanderson Church of Christ. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
