"SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF SIR EDMUND FILMER BART MEMBER FOR THIS COUNTY FOR NINETEEN YEARS. HIS REMAINS ARE INTERRED IN A VAULT ADJOINING THE SOUTH WALL OF THE CHURCH. HE WAS THE ONLY SON OF CAPTAIN EDMUND FILMER; AND DIED ON THE 8TH OF JANUARY 1857 AGED 47 YEARS.
BY HIS SIDE LIES THE BODY OF HIS YOUNGEST CHILD ARTHUR WHO AFTER THREE DAYS ILLNESS WAS CALLED TO HIS REST ON FEBRUARY 15TH OF THE SAME YEAR AGED 12 YEARS."
