Ollie Mae Wallace, 94, a resident of Morgan County since 1956 passed peacefully from this life at her home on October 14.

Born April 17, 1919 in Scottsville, Kentucky, to Thomas and Daisy (Thomas) Levi the only daughter and oldest of 5 siblings. She spent most of her life living in the country but loved to travel, and experiencing every part of the country she could, from old Monterey, California, where she lived in the 1940s, to salmon fishing in Michigan, winters at their house on Lake Okeechobee, exploring the Arizona mountains and deserts, to climbing 12,000' up Mt. Whitney, above the tree line, when she was 70. Life was a wonder to be grabbed, shared, and lived to its fullest.

Ollie married Jesse C. Wallace on August 14, 1948 and together they raised five children on their Morgan County farm. Spunky, full of candor, and to-the-point she never minced her words. For many years she was known for her crafts and appliques, and buying and selling of antiques in antique malls throughout central Indiana, the Bargersville Flea Market and other outdoor venues and festivals, including the Fall Foliage Festival.

Ollie's life and legacy will forever be remembered and recited by her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Thomas Wallace of Indiana; daughters, Diana Wallace of New York and Brenda Wallace of Indiana; granddaughter, Brandi Lynn Cornwell of New York; and twin great granddaughters, Abigail & Harper Cornwell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Jesse; sons, Richard & Michael Wallace and four brothers, Artie, William Louis, Robert Lee and James Franklin Levi.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, October 18th from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Neal & Summers Funeral and Cremation Center in Martinsville and join the family for a committal service at 2:00 p.m. in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood with a gathering following the service.
