INDIAHOMA, OK -- Funeral for Joyce L. Patterson, 72, Indiahoma, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Scott Funeral Home Chapel, Gatesville, Texas, with the Rev. James Roberts and the Rev. Jim Bob Roberts officiating.

Mrs. Patterson died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, at Lawton.

Burial will be at Moffat Cemetery, Moffat, Texas, under direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service.

She grew up in Gatesville, Texas, where she graduated from high school. She married B T Patterson on Sept. 22, 1951, at Gatesville. She graduated from nursing school as an LPN. She was employed by several nursing homes in the area, including Minch's Nursing Home and the Rotunda Nursing Home in Gatesville for 27 years. She retired in 1999 and moved to Indiahoma in 2001 to be near her son. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband B.T. Patterson, and a sister, Jane Beasley.Joyce was the daughter of Lois and James Terrell. She grew up in Gatesville where she graduated from high school. She married B. T. Patterson in Gatesville, on Sept. 22, 1951. Joyce graduated from nursing school as an LVN and began working at several nursing homes in the area, including Mensch's Nursing Home and the Rotunda Nursing Home in Gatesville for 27 years. After retiring in 1999, she moved to Indiahoma, OK in 2001 to be near her son. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, and sister, Jane Beasley.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Delores Thompson and husband, Grant, of Cloudcroft, NM; sons, Johnnie Patterson, of Waco, Bobby Patterson and wife, Mellyna, of Indiahoma, Okla; sisters, Doris Gribble and Betty Bird, both of Gatesville, Francis Dowell, of Temple, Janet Johnson, of Hominy, Okla; grandchildren, Melody Rasor, of Beal AFB, Calif, Brent Patterson, of Indiahoma, Okla, Amanda Thompson, of Cloudcroft, NM; and a host of other relatives and friends.
