Daniel Ruggiero, 89, of Nazareth, died Sept. 21, 2005 in Easton Hospital. He was the husband of Mary S. (Groller) Ruggiero, who died in 2001. He was born in Bangor, son of the late Dominico and Adelaid (DeCaesar) Ruggiero. He worked for various textile mills as a pattern cutter and supervisor retiring in 1980. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Nazareth, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and served on many church committees including the financial, school, new church and gym. He was a captain for Catholic Charities. He was vice president of Holy Family Athletic Association. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Sacred Heart Council, where he served as Faithful Navigator, Grand Knight and 4th degree. He was a neighborhood commissioner of the Delaware Valley Boy Scouts. He was a junior vice commander of American Legion Post 450, Roseto, charter member of Catholic War Veterans Post 454, Northampton. He played on the first basketball team in Roseto, WPA League, played on the Roseto Athletic Association baseball team and also played on the West End A.A. baseball team, Nazareth. Survivors: He is survived by nieces, nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Rose Falcone, and brother, Albert.
