Martha M. Tompkins, 45, died Monday, October 14, 2013 at her home in Colorado Springs.

She was born August 7, 1968 in Dodge City, the daughter of George T. Tompkins and Veronica R. Ravenkamp. She was a 1986 graduate of Dodge City Senior High and a 1988 graduate of Dodge City Community College.

A Xerox technician for 24 years, she began her work in Southwest Kansas moving to Manhattan, Kansas and eventually settling in Colorado Springs.

She was involved with scouting most of her life and earned the rank of Gold Scout with the Girl Scouts.

She was a staunch supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, especially of the Santa Fe Trail Council volunteering her time and serving on the Spanish Peaks Scout Ranch staff.

She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Parish, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Survivors include her step-father, James D. Martin of Dodge City, four brothers, Timothy R. Tompkins and wife, Sharon of Dodge City, William R. Downey of Pretty Prairie, Chad L. Tompkins and wife, Joanna of Abilene, and Lance L. Tompkins and fiancé, Michelle Hertel Fry of Wichita, nieces Amber, Ondrae, Jenny, Ivy and Alyssa and nephews KC, Ian and Samuel.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
