Anthony Wayne Griffin, 91, of Dandridge, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 after a brief illness at Fort Sanders Hospital. He was a WWII veteran in the 88th infantry and retired from Enka and the Southland Casket Company. As a member of French Broad Baptist Church, he was a deacon emeritus.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Pauline Griffin; parents, Nellie and Sanders Griffin and brother, Curtis Griffin.
He is survived by his children, Kay (Ernest) Jordan, Linda (Clarence) Hillard, Gary (Marie) Griffin, Jerry (Rita) Griffin and Paul (Debbie) Griffin; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his special dog, Buffy.

Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Wednesday at Fielden Funeral Home with the Rev. Niles Kitzmiller and the Rev. Kevin Shelton officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Thursday in French Broad Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors provided by VFW Post 5622.
