Bloomfield Resident, Mrs. Dixon, Dies


Mrs. Iris Dixon, 65, died at her residence at Bloomfield at 12:30 a.m. today.


Mrs. Dixon was born March 17, 1900 in Bloomington, the daughter of James and Elizabeth Dobbs. She Was a member of the Bloomfield Methodist church.


Survivors include the husband, Roy Dixon; two sons, Hermon Dixon of Florida and Raymond LeRoy Dixon of Cincinnati, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Barnett of Dugger and Mrs. Rosemary Chambers of Mooresville; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Wray and Mrs. Lillian Swarm, both of Elkhart and two brothers, Roy Dobbs of Petersburg, Fla., and Ed Dobbs of Bloomington. A daughter, Virginia Mae Dixon, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.


The body was taken to the Jenkins and Son Funeral Home at Bloomfield where friends may call after noon Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at the Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Howard Davidson officiating and burial will follow in Grandview cemetery.
