He was born April 23, 1947, in Lincoln, IL., the son of Charles and Lila Emmons Boyer. He married Debra Bonnell on Aug. 8, 1987, in Springfield and she preceded him in death in 2010.
Mr. Boyer is survived by his mother Lila Boyer of Pleasant Plains, two sons: Justin and Steven, his daughter Christina, two brothers: Gary and Delbert, two sisters: Vicki and Patti and his grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father and his brother Roy.
Ronald was a US Army veteran serving in Vietnam. After returning to Springfield he worked for the State of Illinois, Laidlaw Bus Company for twelve years and lastly Springfield Auto Sales as owner before his retirement in 2012. Ronald was a member of Pleasant Plains Lodge #700 AF & AM, ANSAR Shrine, the Disabled American Veterans and Elm Street Christian Church. Mr. Boyer coached youth baseball for Dale Tuebner Little League, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs and Bears.
Burial will follow services at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will conduct Military Honors.
