Oak Park - Mr. Bobby J. Waters, age 76, of Oak Park, died Monday, October 14, 2013 in the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia after an extended illness. He was a native of Emanuel County and lived all of his life in Oak Park. He retired after thirty-seven years as project manager from Iron Workers Local #709 in Savannah. He was a charter member of the Pendleton Creek Community Church and was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Estus Waters and Lena Bell Stevens Waters; and two brothers, Ovin and Pratt Waters. He was a devoted family man and an avid hunter.

Mr. Waters is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Joyce Willis Waters; four children, Debbie Waters Hadden and husband Bobby of the Normantown Community, Byron Waters and wife Kim of Lyons, Kathy Waters Jones and husband Jay of Jacksonville, FL, and David Waters and fiancé Ashley of Oak Park; six grandchildren, Tonya Hadden Franklin and husband Sammy of Lyons, Lisa Hadden Oliver of Normantown, Matt Waters of Lyons, Brad Waters and fiancé Lilly of Greenville, SC, Brooke Waters of Lyons, and Joseph Jones of Wilmington, NC; five great-grandchildren, Skye, Lucas, Landon, Nicholas, and Clayton; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 16th at 11:00 am in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Roberson and Reverend Harvard Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the Waters Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
