Donald Lee Leverich passed away at his home early morning 16 Oct 2013 near Chandler, Oklahoma after a five year battle with cancer, with his wife and family near.

Don was born to Clarence Ralph Leverich and Zelphia Donna Ross Leverich on 06 Aug 1935 in Fort Des Moines, Polk Co, Iowa at the home of his Aunt Esther Leverich Gouka.

At the age of 7, along with the family, he moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma and later at the age of 10 moved to Oklahoma City, where he grew to adulthood. He graduated from Capitol Hill High School. He applied for and received his emancipation and married Wanda Clancy 8 Aug 1953 in Oklahoma City, OK. Two children were born of this marriage, Carolyn Ann and Teresa Dawn.

Don proudly served in the US Army at Ft Sill from Nov 1958 to Nov 1960. He served as a surveyor.

After the service, he worked for The Wonder Bread Company rising in the company to district manager. He worked in the various towns of Anadarko, Chickasha, Seminole, and Enid. After his stint with Wonder Bread, he moved out of the state of Oklahoma to Wichita, Kansas. The Carl Graham Glass Co offered him a job and he worked there two years. During this time, he met Walt Strange who owned a chain of gas stations. Don worked for him and ended up owning five gas stations. At the beginning of the OPEC organizing, he sold his gas stations and moved back to Oklahoma City. Fox-Smythe quickly offered him a job. This was his longest served employer. He worked driving a semi-tractor trailor all over the country, putting many miles on the semis and himself. He enjoyed seeing the countryside and made many, many friends along the way. He ceased working for Fox-Smythe after the death of the owner and went to work for the JB Hunt Co. He became one of their few Million Mile Drivers. In 2008, he retired from JB Hunt and started driving for a local trucking company in Chandler, OK, the Judy O'Day Trucking firm. He very much enjoyed his time with this company, which allowed him to pursue his interests at home.

In the years of his driving, he met Connie Howell Massucci in Amarillo, Texas. Don and Connie were married 10 August 1975, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. At the time of their meeting, she was the mother of three: Randy, Johnnie, and Patti. In July 1988, Don and Connie moved to their current home close to Wellston. Don purchased a house and moved it to the property, and with the help of his father set it on a good foundation and remodeled the house. Don made many improvements to his property and was very happy living there.

He and Connie are affiliated with the First Baptist Church in Chandler, Oklahoma.

Don is survived by his wife at home, Connie Leverich, his ex-wife Wanda Kinsey of Allen, Texas and their two daughters, Carolyn Leverich Atkinson(Rick) of Des Moines, Iowa and Teresa Leverich Brunson of Muscatine, Iowa. Three step-children, Johnnie Massucci(Tracey) of near Chandler, Oklahoma, Randy Massucci(Tandy) of Amarillo, Texas, and Patti Massucci(David) of Wynnewood, Oklahoma.
