Tom was born near Pickrell, Nebraska, the 7th child of Thomas Bedford Day I(March 16,1859, Tennessee-Oct. 13,1942, Arkansas) and Virginia "Jennie" (House) Day(1863 ,Kentucky-Oct. 1890, Nebraska). After his Mother's death, shortly after he was born he was raised by his Grandparents, Clinton and Catherine(Rudder) Day and his "Aunt Jane". He spent some time in Arkansas when he was young, later returning to Nebraska. He attended Mount Olive School near Pickrell and later worked at Dempsters in Beatrice. Tom also farmed near Hwy. 41 on a Scully Lease and for Sam(1869-1944) and Lilian "Lil"(Sherman) Skinner. On Oct.17, 1942, Tom married Sam and Lil's Niece, Gladys(Sherman) Day(1903-1991). They had 2 children, Roger Thomas Day and Ruth Ann(Day) Anderson
