BRIGHTON Kenneth Dale Wooley, 68, died at 5:48 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at home with his family at his side. He was born Feb. 13, 1937, in Equality, Ill., to Lawrence K. and Hazel L. (Frohock) Wooley. He married the former Barbara L. Roe Sept. 2, 1955, in southern Illinois. She survives. He was employed for 22 years at Federal Steel Corporation in East Alton and retired from BSW Corporation in Marissa, Ill., in 1997. He was a member of the Boilermaker's Union 438. He was an avid classic car fan and owned a 1939 Plymouth and a 1939 Chevy that he and his wife enjoyed showing at car shows throughout the states. He was a member of the Fat Boys of America Car Club. He was a very special person and he always had a smile and seldom met a stranger. He will be dearly missed. In addition to his wife, surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Debra King of White Hall and Sherry and Phil Meyer of Rockbridge, Ill.; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Lisa Wooley of Brighton; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Christy and Dan Teaney, Amy and Jason Allen, Gabe Meyer, Jessica and Brad Moulton, Kendra King, Danielle Wooley, Jason King and Tyler Wooley; five great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Rich and Pat Wooley of Bethalto; and his mother-in-law, Elsie Roe of Harrisburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; a father-in-law, Bertis Roe; and a son-in-law, Richard King. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Targhetta and Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Revs. Paul and Joyce Anders will officiate. Burial will be at Brighton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Southwestern Booster Club.
