Marie Shelton
From correcting a knitting mistake, to cooking a perfect crepe, to telling stories about the good old days, an immeasurable amount of wisdom and talent will be missed because Marie Shelton, 90, passed away on March 19, 2011.
All who knew Marie quickly recognized four qualities that defined her life: her immense love for her family and friends, her talent for creating handmade dolls, dishrags, quilts, and Christmas ornaments that she freely shared, her dedication to taking care of other people, and her passion for animals and plants.
A celebration of her life will be held at Wesley–McCabe United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011.
Among those whose lives were made infinitely better by knowing her are her children, Virginia and Freddie Ezell, Jan and Randy Gilbert, and Ernie and Beverly Shelton; her grandchildren, Eric and Dawn Ezell, Carla and Ronny Bourland, Suzanne and Lannie Fulton, and Stacy and Adam Fuller; her great-grandchildren, Adrianna and Ashton Ezell, Marin and Brinley Bourland, and Kelsey and Kara Fulton; dear friends, Cherie Usery and Linda Alexander; and her constant companion, Max, the cat.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Beacon Hospice at Margaret's House, 5016 Gilmer Road, Longview, Texas, 75604.
