Alfred N. Anderson, 76, of Sugar Grove, died Monday, April 9, 2012, at his home.
He was born in Flatridge, to the late Charlie Anderson and Rose Parks Anderson.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Anderson of the home; three daughters and spouses, Linda and Rankin Ring of Wytheville, Betty and Eddie Nichols of Mount Airy, N.C., and Mary and Don Alls of Sugar Grove; four sisters, Janie Akers of Virginia Beach, Janet Moncrief of Roberta, Ga., Gladys Powell of Smith Station, Ala., and Phyllis Cole of Phenix, Ala.; two brothers and spouses, Ralph and Sharon Anderson of Wytheville and Jerry and Kate Anderson of Smith Station, Ala.; two grandsons; four granddaughters; eight great-grandsons; three great-granddaughters; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held at 11 a.m., Thursday at the Church of God of Prophecy, Sugar Grove, with burial in Slemp Cemetery. The Rev. Mike Sage, the Rev. Bobby Baker and the Rev. Eddie Nichols officiated.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Sugar Grove Rescue Squad and Volunteer Fire Dept., Sugar Grove, Va. 24375.
Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, was in charge of arrangements.
