Juan Contreras, age 75, went peacefully home with the Lord surrounded by his family. Juan was born and raised in Contreras, NM. Juan is known for being full of joy and life. Juan was a loving, generous, devout, funny man who loved music and his guitar. One of his favorite songs to sing was Flor de las Flores. Juan enjoyed the casinos, sang for fiestas, and was involved in senior activities, but he never failed to put his family first. Juan loved to dance and was always very talkative, he really enjoyed eating and his favorite place was Furr's Cafeteria. Juan is considered to be a hero and leader and is survived by his wife, Annie, of 52 years whom he spoiled and cherished, his son, Lupe Contreras, daughter, Cathy Trujillo and her husband, John, step-sister, Maria Tomczyk, grandchildren, John "Lou" Contreras, Crystal Trujillo, Jovonn Trujillo and Jonathan Trujillo, great-granddaughter. Noah Trujillo. Rest in peace, we will all love and miss you. You will always live on in our hearts and memories. We will see you again someday. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m at Salazar and Sons Mortuary. A Rosary will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday July 9, 2008. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Thursday July 10, 2008 at Holy Family at 9:00 a.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Lupe Contreras, John "Lou" Contreras, Luke Sais, John Trujillo, Paul Clendenin and Faustino Molina. Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy Molina, Jonathan Trujillo, Crystal Trujillo, Jovonn Trujillo, Noah Trujillo and Jerry Moya.
