Paulette Irene Eggers, age 65, of Sioux Falls, died on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. A Celebration of Life will begin at 1:30 PM Thursday, October 17, 2013, at the Faith Temple Church in Sioux Falls. Memorial visitation with the family present will be from 6-8:00 PM Wednesday, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson. Memorials may be directed to the Faith Temple Food Give Away.
Paulette was born on April 23, 1948 in Sioux Falls, to Melvin and Pauline (Dubbelde) Johnson. She grew up in Garretson and graduated from Garretson High School. On April 1, 1967, she married Gary Eggers. Paulette attended Sioux Falls Vo-Tech and earned her LPN degree. She worked in the OB department at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, and later was director of nursing at United Cerebral Palsy. She continued to work at various nursing homes until her declining health forced her retirement.
Paulette had a strong faith and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed playing piano, reading, and writing in her journals.
Survivors include her daughters: Kathy (Arlo) Manfull, Billings, MT, Leslie (Robert) Michel, Minot, ND, and Amy (Monty) Hagedorn, Tea, SD; grandchildren: Kyrstyn, Riley, and Landyn Manfull, Billings, MT, Jamie Jorgenson, Yankton, SD, and Andrea Michel, Minot, ND; and Bailey and Hunter Hagedorn, Tea, SD; a great-granddaughter, Emma Jorgenson, Yankton; sisters: Jolene (Jerry) Lohr, Garretson, Deanna Santema, Brookings, Marie (Art) Nordstrom, Garretson, Cindy (Mike) Ghandour, Azusa, CA, Marilyn Volz, Anchorage, AK, and Carol (Merlin) Cleveringa, Luverne, MN; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Chloe. She was preceded in death by her parents.
