Melvin Fox died Saturday at his home in Cotton Hill township of inflamation of the bowels, resluting from an attack of la grippe, aged 46 [sic] years.
He was a member of Company I, 114th Illinois Volunteer infantry during the war.
The funeral occurred at the residence, and the remains were interred in Oak Hill cemetery, Clear Lake township.
