Catherine W. “Kay” Lambert, age 89, of Bourbonnais, died Friday, May 13, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born July 21, 1926 in Kankakee, the daughter of Frank Joseph & Geraldine Faye Whalen Wagner.
Kay married Eugene Lambert Jr. April 12, 1946 at St. Patrick Church in Kankakee. He preceded her in death October 2, 1991.
She was a graduate of Reddick High School and Gallager’s Business College in Kankakee. She was a secretary at General Foods Corporation for 17 years. After retirement, she volunteered at Presence Saint Mary's Hospital. Kay enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Surviving are three sons, Greg Lambert of Bourbonnais, Mike & Kathy (Bourgeois) Lambert of Kankakee, Ed & Laura (VanVorrhis) Lambert of Bourbonnais; five daughters, Jacki Williams of Petersburg, Shelly Link of Bourbonnais, Cindy & Kevin Sprimont of Limestone, Mary Jean Janssen of Limestone, and Lauri & Mike Martin of Bourbonnais; 22 grandchildren, Mark, Kevin, and Kelly Lambert, Lisa Bauer, and Brooke Holohan, Whitney Michels and Josh Coleman, Zak and Asa Sprimont, Neelie Panozzo, Eric Link, and Becky Jefferson, David, Jeff, and Scott Lambert, Brian and Eric Janssen, Taylor DeVos and Hannah Lambert, and Emily, Luke, and Mia Martin; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Pauline Berndt and Elizabeth Lovell; and one brother, Francis Wagner.
Interment at St. George Catholic Cemetery, Bourbonnais Township.
