Emiel N. Bodholdt 96, passed
away in the Buena Vista County
Hospital on February 27, 1978. He
was born in Fredsville, Iowa
September 3, 1881.
At a very early age his parents
Peter C. and Mary Naeve Bodholdt
moved to the Newell Community.
He was baptized and confirmed in
the Lutheran faith and has been a
member of Nain Lutheran Church
ever since coming to Newell.
He was married to Emily
Petersen March 21, 1904. To this
union were born two children,
Esther Brewster and Viggo Bodholdt.
Preceding him in death were
his wife Emily, daughter Esther,
and son-in-law, LeRoy Brewster,
one brother and four sisters.
Survivors are his son Viggo and
wife Elhora, grandson Bruce Bodholdt
and wife Darlene and three
great grandchildren, Mitchel, Quentin
and Cody Ann, a brother, Aksel
Bodholdt of Steele, Alabama and
two sisters, Mrs. Eda Pauli of
~ Arlington, Virginia' and Mrs. Mattie
Nelsen of Electra, Texas as well as
several nieces and nephews and
other relatives.
Emiel had a host of friends and
will be greatly missed by them as
well as his relatives.
