Mr. David Cecil Kouns, Jr. was born in Boone County, Indiana, on May 1, 1934, a son of the late David Cecil Kouns, Sr. and Laoma Ruth (Osborn) Kouns.

David graduated from Lebanon High School in 1952. Following school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country honorably during the Korean War.

On September 30, 1957, he was married to Sybil S. (Nance) Kouns, in Elizaville, Indiana. Mrs. Kouns survives.

Mr. Kouns was an employee of the Indianapolis International Airport where he had been an electronic technician for the FAA for twenty-seven years. He was a life-resident of Boone County with the exception of a few years, 1989 – 2006, that he lived in Avon Park, Florida.

David dedicated his life to his family and loved to care for them. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and yard work. David obtained his commercial pilot's license and enjoyed flying personal aircraft as well as building and flying model airplanes.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana, with Rev. Brad Miller, officiating.

Interment with military rites will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.

Visitation is planned from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2013, at the funeral home in Lebanon.
