TUTTLE Robert Robert Tuttle, age 92, of Maumee, Ohio passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. He was born and raised in Sycamore, Ohio March 7, 1921, to George and Beulah Tuttle.
Bob graduated from Heidelberg College in 1947 and worked for Goodyear Tire for 36 years. He was a scout master in Claremont, NH and was also active in the PTA where he served as president. Bob's memberships included the Transportation Club and American Legion 533. He was also active at Maumee United Methodist Church.
He cooked breakfast for the men's club once a month for over 20 years. Bob also tended to the sick in the hospital for the church. Bob was a Naval Aviator, serving during WWII. He was recalled for 17 months during the Korean War, and retired with the rank of Major in the Marine Corps. He is still on the retired list.
The widower of Betty Tuttle who passed away February 22, 2013, Bob is survived by his loving children, Steve, Mary George, David, John, Matthew and Philip Tuttle; grandchildren, Andrew, Lindsay, Anthony, Benjamin Tuttle and Kristin McNamara, and Sylvia Tuttle Ducat.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bob was preceded in death by his siblings, Myron, George, Mary, Mabel and Virginia.
The family will receive guests Thursday, October 17, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, (419-381-1900). Private burial will be held in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, Ohio. No flowers are requested. The family would like to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.
