Mary Helen Abbott, 83, of Cockeysville, formerly of Reisterstown, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at the Maryland Masonic Home.

Born May 5, 1930, in Braddock Heights, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Edith Mumford Strobel. She was the wife of Jack Abbott, who died in May 1993.

She was a registered nurse, working at Greater Baltimore Medical Center until her retirement. She was a graduate of Franklin Square School of Nursing. She was a member of Woodlawn Chapter 101 Order of the Eastern Star, holding numerous offices there and was considered the "go to" person in the chapter. She was also active in Seniors on the Move at Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was a longtime member.

Surviving are daughter Jill E. Schultz and husband J. Robert Schultz, of Westminster; a stepdaughter, Carol Roby, of Wisconsin; and grandsons Michael and Matthew Schultz, of Westminster.

She was predeceased by brothers Dr. Martin Strobel and William Strobel.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until the time of funeral service, 8 p.m. today at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, chapel entrance, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with Deacon Charles Barnhart Jr. officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date in Mount Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Middletown.
