Velma Grace "Lulu" Cunningham, 99, longtime former Fort Worth resident, passed away in Athens Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013. Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Olivet Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday prior to service. Velma was born Dec. 16, 1913, in Jayton. She was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Her greatest pleasures were visiting with family and friends, going to church, holding babies, fishing, and traveling. Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Cunningham; great-grandsons, Austin Juren and Nicolas Mrozek; parents, "Loss" and Mattie Allen; and brother, Jimmy Chesney. Survivors: Daughters, Anita Juren, Charlene Holcomb and husband, Perry, and Nelda Dunlap, all from Athens; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
