Charles Fred Wiese was born July 20, 1903, near Montour to Fred and Goldie (Ray) Wiese. He attended rural schools near his home. He was married Jan. 3, 1924, in Toledo to Hazel Steveson. They farmed in the Montour area until 1945 and in 1946 Mr. Wiese started the Wiese Construction Co., at Washington. He was also engaged in roadside erosion control fro the Iowa Department of Transportation throughout the state. Charlie was also a true horseman.
