He attended Fremont Ross High School and then enlisted in the United States Army in 1950 and served in the Korean War. On October 14, 1994, he married Shirley Walters in Angola, IN. She passed away on January 27, 2011. He was a truck driver and welder until he retired in 2006. Samuel was a lifetime member of the V.F.W., enjoyed model cars and working on home projects. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles and caring for his 3 cats.
Samuel is survived by his step-children; siblings, Curtis (Faye) Walters of Castalia, James (Sue) Walters of Oak Harbor, Robert Walters of Fremont and sister-in-law Carol Walters of Fremont.
He is preceded in death by his brother Clyde L. and sister, Mary K. Walters.
Burial will be private.
