Catherine Juanita Dixon Richardson, 92 years old of Independence, Virginia was born July 1, 1929 in Baywood Community on Little River, to Arthur William Dixon and Dora Lee Shaw Dixon. She passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Grayson Rehabilitation and Heath Center. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Burton Richardson, brothers and (spouses), AJ "Buck" and Betty Dixon, Bobby and Pauline Dixon, brother, Gerald Dixon, a brother-in-law, Ted Bartlett and a grandson, Todd Livengood.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Hodge (James) and Cathy Carico (John) and one son and daughter-in-law, Rocky Richardson (Anita). Grandchildren: Julie Stoots (Tim), Evan Hodge, and Emily Richardson. Great-Grandchildren: Jacob Livengood (Sarah), Eden and Emma Stoots. Also surviving are two sisters: Mildred Bartlett and Edna Hill (Berlie).
Catherine "Granny" enjoyed more than anything spending time with family and all her "babies", shopping and flower gardening. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church at 3:00 PM in Independence, Virginia, by Rev. David Osborne with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends starting at 2:00pm at the church with service to follow at 3:00 PM. A meal for family and friends will provided in the church fellowship hall following services.
