Joy Pendleton Cook, 82, of Melbourne, died Oct. 12, 2013.
A native of New Boston, Ohio, she was born December 15, 1930 to the late James Wilbur Pendleton and Dixie Wynn Wolfe.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a former member of the Eastern Star. As a volunteer she worked with the following: Troubled children under the late Judge Muldrew, the Cancer Society, and visited the nursing homes and hospitals for her church. She was a local apartment manager and was employed by West Melbourne City Hall.
Joy is survived by her son, Allen Cook and his wife, Becky, of Sebastian, FL. Four grandchildren, Cory Cook of Sebastian, Alissa Cook of Vero Beach, Chris Bergeron of Melbourne, and Steve Stayberg of Roseberg, Oregon, and 4 great-grandchildren. Also a brother, John Pendleton of Walland, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Fredrick Cook and son, Paul (Ric) Fredrick Cook II (Grave Memorial# 85083509). Also a brother, Jack Pendleton, and a sister, Patsy Jarrell.
Funeral Service will be at Florida Memorial Gardens for Family Members Only. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your favorite charity in memory of Joy.
