After coming to USA from Lithuania he was known in documents as Tuzef Strykulis (daughter Sophie's 1915 birth Record), later Joseph Strikulis, and by the WWI registration card was Jozef Strykul.

At the time of his marriage his name was still Strykulis. He married Miss Annie Bangel [Bancer] 28 Jul 1912 in Chicago(see marriage certificate to the right). Other spellings for her also vary over the years from Banciar, Bancar etc...

Their first son was born Chester Strykulis 8 Jul 1913 and Peter Strikulis premature birth 27 April 1914 on 4525 Hermitage Ave Chicago and died that same day at 7 PM according records. He was laid to rest 29 Apr 1914 at St Casimer's in Chicago Illinois.

Daughter Sophie Strykulis 5 Jun 1915, all of their names later shortened to Strykul.

Maria Strykul 14 Jun 1916, Samuel Strykul 14 Jun 1918, John Arthur Strykul 30 Apr 1920, Daniel Strykul 27 Nov 1921,

Sadly Joseph was killed in a car accident in 1923 on the 19th Mar 1923 when he lost control of his car, only days before the birth of his son Joseph who was born 28 Mar 1923.

One Killed, One Injured South Bend Ind., Mar19-Joseph Strychal, about 35, residing near Eagle Lake, Mich., about 20 miles northeast of here, was instantly killed and John Babinski, of this city, was painfully injured this afternoon when the touring car in which they were riding turned over on the Edwardsburg road about 6 and a half miles from here. Strychal is said to have lost control of his car after skidding into a ditch while traveling at high speed.

Funeral services for Joseph Strychal were held this morning at 10:30 o'clock at the residence, 524 Pulaski street. Burial was in Highland cemetery
