Burnettsville, Dies
Ernest C. Chilcott, 53, mail carrier
for the Lucerne rural route,
died unexpectly at 6:35 a.m. Wednesday
at his home in Burnettsville,
after suffering a heart attack.
He had been a rural mail carrier
since 1927, starting for the
Burnettsville post office and transferring
to Lucerne in 1935.
A lifelong resident of Burnettsville,
he was born July 11, 1905,
the son of Charles and Jennie
Love Chilcott. He was a member
of the Burnettsville Methodist
church and the Burnettsville Masonic
lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Martha;
two sons, Charles and Joseph; a
daughter, Elizabeth Jane, all at
home; and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret
Tobias, Burnettsville, and
Mrs: Harley Hood, Washington,
D. C.
Friends may call after 7 p.m.
