Edgar Hart, Jr. MOORESVILLE Edgar Lee Hart, Jr., 82, of Oak Village Parkway in Mooresville, and formerly of Savannah, Ga., passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte. Born Jan. 26, 1929, in Tarboro, he was the son of the late Edgar Lee Hart, Sr. and Ida Parks Hart. Mr. Hart was a 1951 graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He also played football while at North Carolina State. He served as General Manager for Interstate Paper in Riceboro, Ga. Mr. Hart worked in numerous pulp and paper mills across the southeast and was an active member in T.A.P.P.I. (Pulp and Paper Association). He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Hart was very active in Grace United Methodist Church in Savannah and was currently a member of Williamson's Chapel United Methodist Church, Mooresville. Everyone that knew and worked with him respected him for his thoughtfulness and how he cared for other people. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anne Worsley Hart; children, Melissa Hart Chopko and her husband, David, of Kennett Square, Pa.; Rebecca Anne Hart, of the home; and Lee Hart Needham and her husband, Mark, of Mooresville; grandchildren, Caroline and Adam Chopko and Kristen and Curtis Needham; and brother and sister-in-laws, Doak and Nell Worsley, of Tarboro; Beck and Dave Green, of St. Augustine, Fla.; Billy and Jane Worsley, of Washington, N.C.; and Buzzie and Marilyn Worsley, of Myrtle Beach, S.C. The family will received friends Saturday, June 11, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, at St. James United Methodist Church, Tarboro, with burial following in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to UMAR - United Methodist Agency for the Retarded, P.O. Box 1558, Huntersville, NC 28078 and/or Williamson's Chapel United Methodist Church, 575 Brawley School Rd., Mooresville, NC 28117. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, and Carlisle Funeral Home, Tarboro, are serving the family of Mr. Hart.
